Concealed

dogwood-googlemaps

Concealed beneath its

overhanging banks,

A river flows,

swift, sweet and true

still rimmed with ice,

but gathering force

to stalk the quiet

waterbed,

to lick the stones

awake and spread

its wetness over moss,

then probe along the

coarsened shore to

kiss the thin red rigid

twigs of Dogwood

waiting,

trembling,

in the wind.
